hey,
is the exo-terra solar glo a good mv bulb, what about the sun glo halogen bulb??? and is a solar glo and a reptisun 5.0 too much uvb? i new to the chameleon stuff so i wanan get it right before i go and buy a cham.

if you bought the solar glo you wouldnt need any more uvb then just that..or a flourescent tube period. i have not heard any one comment at all about the solar glo bulb though so can't help ya there.

For UVB the repti-sun 5.0 is perfect. Tube light not the compact curled light.

no you cant use the solar glow bulb as it is a compact and will damage there eyes. they also use mercuary and are very harmfull for the chameleon. dont use it, just use a normal 60 watt house buld and a reptisun 5.0

what is so much different about that MV bulb then all the others people are using? plenty of other people seem to be doing alright with the powersun and megaray bulbs. i would think it would damage eyes if its way to close to the cage/chameleon. but if they are set away from the cage properly i have heard alot of good things.

Check out this website: Uv Guide. There is some great info here.

What you will find works best for your cham, in a normal screen enclosure, is the Zoo Med 5.0 Reptisun. Place it next to a heat lamp and have a basking spot under the two lights at about 6-8".

Remember there is a difference between all lamps. None perfectly represent the sun's rays. So check out the site listed above, it will give you a lot of info.
