I think I might just be an idiot, but I can't get this thing to work properly. Instructions aren't very helpful : / Any ideas? I'm going to have it on from 9am-9pm.
What do you need help with? Just the general idea of how it works? I don't have that exact one but have some that are similar. Usually push the little pins down
For the times when you need the Lights on and leave the pins out(like they came in box) for the hours you want dark. Little three Way click switch is usually on the side. Has three settings, on, off and auto. You want auto. On mine it's the middle setting. To make sure simply plug light into timer and turn time dial. If it shuts off and turns on at the given times you selected, you are good. If it stays on all the time you are probably in on mode and need to adjust on the side usually. Same thing with off etc.. Line up the arrow with the current time you have now with the pushpins and that should be it. I don't know if that's what your looking for?
I figured it out. Thanks for offering to help though lol. I have to plug it in upside down cuz it was made like that and I knew that ON was the switch being flipped upwards. But I have to plug it in upside down so I actually turned it off when I first plugged it in -.-
Ok i just bought the same timer today and i'm trying to figure out how to set it up? I have my usual day time light connected and my nighttime heat bulb connected. I want the day light to go from 9-9pm and from 9-9am the heat bulb. How do I set this up?
These things are pretty much hit or miss, but as simple as they are they took me a while to figure out too. On mine which may be similar to this one it just has little things that you push up and down to represent day and night.
Hey question, I also have this same timer... Way too confusing if you ask me, but the light that I currently have has an on off switch for it ... Not sure if this is a dumb question but should the switch for the light be turned on or off ... Or would it matter ?
I bought the dual timer gadget for my daughter's tortoise and it took me forever to figure it out. The key is to push down all the segments between the time you want the light to come on and the time you want it to go off. In our case I pushed down the segments starting at 7:00 am and kept pushing them down all the way around until 9:00 pm. Voila! The light comes on and goes off as scheduled. Previously I was only pushing down one segment so the light would come on for 15 minutes then go out. NOTE: make sure the light plugged into the timer is flipped to the ON position. Someone rated the timer on Amazon and left specific directions on how it works or I'd still be scratching my head.
