Enclosure Question

I was wondering how many sides of my enclosure should I have "open"? Im thinking about putting plexy glass in to keep the water from the misters in. The panels would only go on the sides and back. not the top or front. is this OK?

What I'm doing is building a cage out of melamine whiteboard. The front will most likely be screen but all sides, top, and bottom will be melamine. To allow for a good airflow I'm placeing either a large ac vent (like used in homes) on each of the sides and back panels at the top, or several circular air vents at the tops on all three sides. The top won't be completely sealed off as I will have to cut out two large holes in the melamine for the light fixtures to set it, in which they will be sitting a aluminum mesh.

If you do something similar to this, as far as what to do about airflow, I'm sure everything will be just fine.

What cham will go in it?

yeah just poke it with a utility knife and slide the zip tie in. Another easy thing to secure these panels to cages is the screw from the cage. the plastic is pretty easy to put a screw through. So just line the screw up with where the hole in the cage is for it, then screw it in and it'll find it's way to the hole in the cage and tighten up. just don't ever over tighten screws on screen cages. They strip very easily.

my cage is made of wood but i would imagine it would be the same thing
maybe just longer screws

do you think putting a washer on it between the board and the head of the screw would be a good idea?

Cool now I just have to find a sign shop near me that has either 24x24 or 24x48sheets that I can buy in singles or 5s instead of 10s and cheaper than acrylic. Online prices are more expensive than 1/8 acrylic
