We bought a small hibiscus bush today and put it in his cage followed all the cleaning and repotting of the soil. My question is does this bush not fit well in this cage to you and if it doesn't is it a problem? Do I need more branches for him to climb on? Any advice is appreciated. He he is in his bush

yes you could use a few branches and vines. I would make sure you have a sturdy vine or branch and place it about 8 inches below his basking light. Your plants looks awfully close to the light and he might be able to burn himself if he gets too close.

I see him. Very showy bush. Looks nice. To me, however, it looks as if the cage is either too small or the pot is too large. I agree with carol5208, the plant top is too close to the light. Can you take a 2x4 and raise the light up off the screen? How about moving that vine you have down near the bottom up higher & around the outside edges a bit. Maybe screw in about 3 or 4 cup hooks in the corners near the top (about 6" down perhaps?) What are your temps in the top portion of the cage center and edges? Could you trim some of the really top leaves or small branches down a couple of inches?

Might also add a pothos or small ficus in the open space. Very nice buy on the hibiscus, I would like that.
