hi all, after abit of advice really just finished making my enclosures and wanted to know what is or could be used to make some perches, i was thinking either bamboo or wooden dowl but ive heard bambo can get to slippery also what is the best diamater say 10mm bigger smaller
thanks

what kind of cham r u getting? bamboo is slippery yes, but what i do is sand the shine off of it and then they can grip it. you can use sticks you find out side or on the beach just bake them to kill any parrasites, rope can be used. just make sure its thick enough so their feet have to grip it and their feet dont go all the way around the stick this can cause foot sores. if your cham is having balance problems the branch is probably to thin.

i use tons of bamboo in mine. I have never seen ones slip and fall from any of it. As long as they can grip it they can rip it. Now if the bamboo is to big then perhaps but small bamboo found at walmart etc in the gardening center for plant stakes works fine.

Or go to a arts and crafts store and peruse the fake plants section.. they will have branches etc there usually.

I made our veiled a bamboo ladder. She loves it and, like Wykd, have never seen her slip. That's not to say it couldn't happen.
