Egg question..

Just wondering.... Will infertile eggs sweat like they are going to hatch?

We had one start sweating a few days ago and now there is a green spot on the eggs and white fuzzy mold started.

Anyone have this happen? I've left the egg thus far thinking maybe it'll hatch lol but now there's another egg starting to sweat that never showed veins.

I have had an entire clutch sweat, shrink, and never pip. Subsequent clutches from the same female had 100% hatch rates. All the other eggs that were kept in the same location hatched without issue. The only explanation I could come up with was the container I used was thinner walled so the temp change was more drastic than the higher quality Rubbermaid bins. The one I had a problem with was a glad box. I have since stopped using those and only use the Rubbermaid containers. I hatch all my panthers using the closet method and have never used an incubator.

Our house is far to cold to use the closet method. Winters in ontario in an 150+ year old farm house suck lol. Nonetheless the eggs that are doing this are in the same container as the eggs that have hatched.

I had the same problem.

I would sugest removing the egg from the container, and setting it up to incubate on its own.

Don't throw it out, as it coudl still be viable..

Another one is starting to do the same thing. I took a pic... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359313335.554264.jpg
