Egg color

Can anyone tell me what 'colour' eggs should look if they are fertile in the early stages (or perhaps an easier question....what colour they should be if they are going bad).

With some species of reptile they start out a slightly pinky color then turn a more pearly color as they develope, I have heard that if they are going off, chameleon eggs tend to turn a yellow color. Can anyone confirm any of these points?

Fertile eggs are slightly larger than infertile ones. The fertile ones are more opaque looking and whiter generally than infertile ones too. Infertile words will mold and go bad within a couple of weeks of being laid as a rule.

I don't candle the chameleon eggs so I can't tell you what you will see when candling them...or at what point within the incubation you will see signs of life. I'm sure it will vary with the species since some of the eggs go through a diapause.
