I have too many females. My Mitsio females were very hard to sell and I have 6 left that seem to be carrying eggs.
For the last 2 weeks their eating has slowed down substantially, as it usually does when females are close to laying. But none of them have been clawing at the ground, digging in their plant pots, or in the bucket of sand in their cages, and I am starting to get worried.
In all the years I've had females, I've never had to deal with more than one gravid female at a time. THIS IS SO STRESSFUL.
To boot, I just re-did their cages and I'm afraid they might be still getting used to the new layouts and that is preventing them from laying.
We've had a cold spell here and the last 3 nights have been much colder than usual.
I'm gonna be bald by the end of the day I'm so stressed lol.
I've got black garbage bags over the front of their cages so they can't see me, hopefully that will help make them more comfortable.
I'm more kinda venting my stress than anything. Should I give them liquid calcium or something? A warm bath? I don't want to bother them but I feel like I should do something.
