Ok, I have a six month old panther that has decided to slow his eating way down. His poops are small but look exactly like they should. At what age should I start to feed every other day??
I was told by a very respected, experienced member on here that after 6 months or so you can feed them every other day. I always thought it was when they were about a year old. At 6 months mine was eating like crazy! Now at nine he is barely eating it seems. Maybe it is just a phaze they are going through. Who knows?
oh, one more thing, have you changed up the diet at all? Trying different things might spark their appetite also. Mine loves silkworms but the place I was getting them at was closed for 2 weeks. now that I am getting some this week I am hoping he will start showing some more interest in eating. Mine will not touch crickets as of about 2 weeks ago. Loved supers, and now is so so on them.
This guy is different then my others. Has always eaten but not a huge amount. He loves supers, more than silks and he does not care for hornworms. When he ate the one and only horn worm he had a look on his face like he was going to vomit.
They slow down at different ages. At 6 months, I would try to keep feeding everyday but maybe fewer items at a time. Can you hand feed? What I do for my male if he is not eating much is put a med sized roach on the screen top and let it run across over his head. Almost always gets his attention and he cant help but snag it. I will repeat this around 5 -6 times until he has had enough to eat for that day. Fun to watch too.
