Eating dirt?

I caught Spaghetti eating some dirt from his pathos this morning. I did notice what I thought was some plant matter in his poo yesterday, but looking back I think it was some stuff from the soil. All his plants are potted in organic potting soil so I don’t think there is anything in it that can hurt him. Should I be concerned?

You are fine. There are plenty of filthy dirt and bark eaters. You just have to make sure the soil doesnt have ANY fertilizers or water balls or vermicolite or water crystals. Or you could just put some larger gravel on top of the soil, this also helps to keep excaped feeders from laying eggs.

I use the really large decorative stones you get from craft stores. I only use the the ones that are 1 inch or bigger so he can not eat the rock. They are normally sold in a net bag. But Beman will eat dirt if I do not cover it in a layer of rocks.
