Eating a Dead Cricket?

Say I accidently ripped the head of a crickett, can I still feed him to my cham if it's within a minute or so of the accidental death? I can't imagine the cricket would lose any nutritional value in that short amount of time, but I want to make sure it's ok.

I have no intentions of feeding him dead crix on a regular basis, just wanted to see if it's ok if this ever happens again, he sure seemed to enjoy the crix regardless of it's movement.

ya i wondering how you rip the head off by accidfent as well LOL those lil buggers are tuff. but yes if its a fresh cricket dead or not you can feed it, alot of chams will not show interest in dead feeders tho.

I doubt it would cause any problems since it's still fresh but it's unlikely that the chameleon will go after it if it's dead. If you hold it in your fingers and make it look like it's moving you'll probably stand a better chance.

In case the cham is disinterested in a motionless cricket, move the headless cricket in a green army man fashion lol

But in all seriousness, it's ok--it's still fresh in that short amount of time.

Yep as said above... it will still be fresh within a minute.... just dont feed them dead crickets that have been dead for a while. Id say bacteria and what not would make your cham very sick.
