on the days that i dont give calcium with vit d3 or herptivite is it alright to give crickets to my cham with no supplement or do they have to have plain calcium

You need to dust with calcium without D3 at just about every feeding. Twice a month use the calcium with D3 and once a month with the herptivite. When he's older you can use the plain calcium at every other feeding.

I always dust crickets. Usually superworms also. Other bugs I often dont bother. The reason you should dust crickets is that they have a naturally higher phosphorous to calcium ratio. You want to balance that by adding the calcium powder, and by gutloading with high calcium veggies (like dandelion or collards)
