Dripper alternative?

Hi Guys,

I am considering puting some water drippers on my chams, and I came across this pump. It claims it can be use as a chameleon dripping system, so I am wondering if any of our members is already using it or have seen it used. Please let us know your feedback. The price is quite affordable and if it really works, can be very helpful.

seems to me like a little dripper or a big dripper would be just as effective without the electricity or moving parts to break

I use a fountain pump found at Home Depot for my dripper system. Just have to get one that will pump the water high enough. For the dripper heads I use the adjustable ones found in HD's micro irrigation section. Here's a pic of the drippers in the cage...

Here's the set-up copy and pasted from another thread...
As far as a dripper set-up here's what I used: (everything minus timer and heater found at Homedepot)
Rubbermaid tub
aquarium heater
fountain pump (make sure you get one strong enough to pump the water up high enough)
1/2" tubing (connects to pump)
1/2" to 1/4" reducer (look around the fittings section at homedepot sometimes they have one or you can get a few different brass pieces that screw together)
zip-ties
1/4" tubing
1/4" T-barbs (found by sprinkler heads at HD)
1/4" adjustable dripper head (found by sprinkler heads at HD)
Brinks 6 on/off setting timer (found at Walmart)

I think i know the drip system you are talking about, is it just a hand pump with a valve on it so it can spray and drip? If so these are pretty handy, i my self dont use one but have scene these used they look like they do the job.

But if you are feeling ambitious i would just use the fountain pump method, would be cheaper than a misting system, and would work a lot better than just one drip.

I use a mister (pesticide pump type) twice a day. The dripper comes on 3 times a day and I mist at the beginning of two of those sessions. A dripper is not a substitute for misting.

no the thing i am talking about has a valve on it so you can adjust it to drip or adjust to spray. I know dripping is not a alternative to misting...
