Well... Finally got around to it. I got tired of the constant leaking cage setup I have now. The build is all scrap wood I have kicking around from other projects..mostly MDF with 2x4 support. Im going with a drainage top like Reptoman (thanks alot for your pictures and in depth design overview).
Day 1:
3/4 MDF sides screwed & PL glued to have a sturdy base. Ripped some wood about 3" thick for a trim around the top. The cage will sit perfectly in the trim and be secured (as the cage will have no bottom)
and finally... added the bottom trim
To come:
I have to rip some more wood through the table saw to build a door for the front..router all the trim.. box decorative trim on both side pieces..complete vinyl, put in drain, and support structure for plants to sit on.
I also built the enclosure myself 2x2x4. I made sure to sit the trim at the right height so I can use the small bottom door as well for cleaning purposes. Can't wait to finally have my guy running on a dripper and a mist king and no longer see puddles all over the floor! will update the thread as progress continues
