drainage on 260 flex

i ws woundering anyone have a drainge system going on a flex i got the 260 have to set it up soon wnt water to drain in bucket or try ws thinking if to drillholes in the plastic tray? dnt know if gd idea like to know ideas or wht i cn do thanx

Flexariums make fantastic outdoor cages. Unfortunately they are not the greatest for permanent indoor setups because of the limitations.

My suggestion is to look into building or purchasing and altering a cage for permanent indoor caging. Use the Flexarium as an outdoor sunning cage for when the weather allows.

I have a flexarium with flextray and have the enclosure mounted on a timber base,(pic 1). I have cut a small slice in the plastic and flexarium and poked a nozzle type hose fitting which I have adapted so that it is flush finishing at the top, (see pic) which then enables the water to drain to a vessel below. I simply ran a small bead of silicon around the fitting and it works fine!

I totally agree with Will here. I have a 260 gallon flexarium in my backyard only for daytime use. It's a great way to get your chameleon fresh air and nice humidity in the summer time. They are just a pain sometimes because of the zipper. I wouldn't recommend it for indoor use.
At the time I was planning my breeding setup, I was going to use flexariums but opted out because of the zipper. I wanted cages that I could rely on and I found those at www.FLchams.com

If you MUST use the flexarium, I'd get rid of the flex tray and any substrate that you may have at the bottom. Build a wooden platform with a large bucket that covers the entire bottom for your drainage.

ty for re going with last reply with a big buket wud b so much better have to use a flex im afraid cnt find any other cage in uk and fl chams is alot to ship i maild mike lol and no way im payng tht wud a b a nice cage bt not worth tht mount of money shame though.getting my plants 2moro for the 260 flex and ordering vines and bamboo for it tonight so is nearly all ready to set up
