Does your cham like eating soil?

Don't worry so does mine.

Today I went to Lowe's to buy some rocks to cover my plants' soil. When I had arrived and saw the bags of rock, it amazed me to see that they are all dusty and I have to admit, I was a bit worried. I wandered off to look at soil when I came across this!

It cost me $7.03 total and although it cost $3 more than the 30 or so pounds of dusty river rocks I told myself, "what am I going to do with the extra rocks I don't use" so i decided to go home with this 5 pound bag.

Here are pics. Imo they are more stylish than the dusty ole river rocks and big enough for me to not worry about it fitting in his mouth, but small enough where as its not TOO bulky. Take a gander.

Oh! and there's enough in there to cover 2, 2 gallon plants. Maybe more! My blackberry camera does not do these rocks any justice.

I've noticed my chameleon is more likely to try to eat something shiny, and it looks like some of those are a little small for an older chameleon.

Ahh, sorry. I've only seen an adult Panther cham in real life once.

Here are some more pictures for size comparisons.

Hehe, I've never tested "shiny" objects on my cham before.

They look kinda heavy too (weird thing to say right  ) I wouldnt think a cham could pick it up with its tounge even if they latched on to one :p

I wasn't saying they'd use their tongue to eat it... and per chance it tried it could hurt its tongue.

Eh. My panther loves dirt (it's adorable!) so I put a few inches of sifted plain soil on top (so there are NO large chunks) and cover it with some rocks. He pushes them over or just goes through the cracks, but at least it's sifted and harder to get to.
