hi every one i have a almost 6 month old female and male veileds. my female seems pretty fat like if she is pregnant i havent tried to breed her because she still dont have the mature colors i see on older veileds. i have pictures can any one give me their thought on if she is or not thanks

she cant get pregnant unless you tried to get her pregnant or you have the male in the same enclosure and if he is you got to get him out of their ASAP

if not she still seems young to start producing her first clutch

Yes she does seem quite fat. Probably is going to lay infertile eggs, she has a nice green tone to her and looks great.

Put a laying bin in her cage now just incase. Better safe than sorry.

I dont think she pregnant she probably is just going to lay her first infertile clutch like chameleonneeds said

by the way you got some good looking veileds :)

Not neccesarily.

Females can produce a clutch without being exposed to a male like Miss Lily`s first female veiled that produced 103 infertile eggs!

Although it is more likely that a female will produce a clutch is she has SEEN a male.

You can use that play sand stuff, make sure it is pesticide and poison free. It should be about 20cm deep atleast.

Or use something like topsoil.

If she is 6 months old you should not be trying to breed her at all yet. She needs to grow and mature a little more. YES-they can and do lay eggs as young as 5 months. I had a barely 6 month old that I hatched lay a clutch. When was she last with the male? If it was in the last month-6 weeks they could indeed be fertile. Get a large flower pot or garbage can at least 12" tall by 11" wide and fill with organic soil or play sand mixed 50/50 with soil or coconut fiber (Bed-A-Beast), and wet it down enough so that it holds a tunnel if you dig into it without collapsing. Hopefully she is not still with the male or any other chameleon or she could refuse to lay and end up eggbound.

i think they dont sell those in my local pet shop is there any thing else? oh yea and how do u gut load insects? and with wat?

You do not need any special feeders. If she does lay just feed her well for a few days with nicely calcium dusted crickets.

Make sure you are not overfeeding her so she does not lay large clutches-that can take the life out of them quicly if they lay repeated large clutches.
