You said you have a UVB fixture but where is it? Also what is the basking temp? I usually raise the heat lamp a few inches off the screen so my chams can't burn themselves. But all in all your setup looks really good so far :)

I am not sure about the plant check in the resources tab above to see if it is in the safe plant list. Also all I see is a dome light.. Most of us here use reptisun 5.0 fluorescent uvb bulb and a dome with a house bulb of proper watts for there basking spot.

I still need the buy the UVB fixture and bulb.

The basking temp is right around 85 F. - 15W bulb...seems kind of low!

Do chams usually know not to go too close to a heat source such as the bulb?

Thanks :)

I'm getting the fixture+bulb tomorrow, and I've asked about the plants in the forums (Money Tree or Pachira Acquatica) and it is known to be safe.

Awesome you might want some more plants and vines but evrything sounds and looks good:)

no, they will burn themselves and not even move acutually. you temps depend on your cham. but usually 80 is good and mabey a little higher up at top lower at the bottem and a drop in temps at night. but again thats vauge becuz idk what kind your getting. some need lower. i saw that you said your MISSING a uvb. so it will look nice when you get one. everything looks good so far. pothos would look nice around in there to give a fuller feel. your doing a gr8 job. good thing you set it up before you bought! congratz! i use the same kind of cage(all screen) and have loved it so far. what "gallon" is that?

edit- oh nvm. i just saw that yours is not like that. yours looks like plexi glass or something. very nice.

The wattage bulb is so low that it doesn't do much heating up to the cage, but I will raise it anyway!

Also, I'm getting a panther chameleon :p

I was thinking about a pothos, but didn't want to hang it and possibly stress the mesh on the cage, so, I just have the one real plant in the middle and fake vines and such on the sides.

I'm not sure about the gallons, but it is an all screen cage (Reptibreeze) and it is 2'X2X4' Tall

Thanks :)

oh i ment just stick them at the bottem. it just looks a little nicer and gives the chams a feel of their little forest below them i would think. it really does look good. also i used to have mine resting like that. its no hudge rush. i was told to raise it and its all over better to just do it. i bought a 5lb command strip and hung it on that. worked awsome and have had no problems. 10$ for 3 of them so mabey that will help you out aswell. gr8luck on your new best friend! and be warned. one you get one. you WILL get another. haha.

So I've heard! I don't want that to be the case, so I still live at home with the parents and 2 bearded dragons and a chameleon is already pushing it!

That's why I'm getting a really Nosy Faly- hopefully that will be enough to hold off this addiction many of these forum-ers have!

well. nope. im in highschool/college classes and im working on getting my next right now. you'll see an unboxing from this name next week hopefully. haha.

NOTHING CAN SURPRESS THE ADDICTION! get out while u can!!! ;P

idk about that actually. iguanas and beardys and all them are so sweet and loveing. i think i just love spending money and makeing the cages and supplies and everything nicer. its more like a hobby than a pet. but you still love the animal itself. they just take so much more time and ect that its kinda fun to wake up and see the lights click on. idk! everyone had their own thing about it. haha.

ohhh~! and their little pinchy hands and googly eyes!
