I use a sheet of translucent painter's plastic, available at any hardware/home improvement store. The chameleons can't see anything on the other side but it lets light through, so the cages don't get too dark.

You could technically use anything. Cardboard, plastic sheets, garbage bags, towels, wood sheets, etc. etc.

Get some suregrip at a restaurant supply store its the black rubber webbing they use in comerical refrigerators .it lets air pass threw ,and its hard to see threw. You can cut it to size. It looks like that rubber shelf lining some people use in there kitchen but thinner

I use a product called melamine, its the same product as a white board, repels water, and as long as the surface isnt scratched, cleans very well. If the surface is scratched over time the water exposure will get into the crack and cause it to break down, however it works very well when placed back to back so both white sides are out, and its cheap like 10.00 for a 4' x 8' sheet.
