Dead female dubia roach?????

I went through my dubia roach enclosure to clean it and saw a dead female. My mom said she was still moving. Her head was bit off though. We looked and there was baby dubia roach in the female EATING HER! Anybody know what was going on here?

The adults die and the babies eat them... just the nature of the insect

Wasn't just a shedding? My discoids shed and look like a empty eaten one but its really just the shell.
