Cutworms?

I would personally avoid feeding cutworms. The possibility that they have pesticide in them is high. The ground carries chemicals from years of treatment even if you never use them. They would also likely have a parasite load just like wild caught isopods. There are plenty other options for wild caught feeders like grasshoppers, stick bugs, cabbage moths, etc. JMO

I feed cutworms I find in my yard and garden to my Chameleons. Heck I used to feed tomato worms off the tomato plants to them also. My yard is pesticide free though.

I don't really get the bugs have pesticides in or on them thing. Wouldn't they be dead? And if they aren't dead do you really think they would have enough to harm a chameleon? Just saying:)

I have heard the parasite load is heavy in worms that come from the dirt. Just like nightcrawlers, wc snails and wc isopods. As for pesticides, insects develop resistance to them over generations and can carry a good amount in their tissue living in the soil without being affected. I've read this in different places and it makes sense to me so I don't take a chance.

With breeding the parasites would go away though.

We don't use pesticide either.

Awesome.. I will try it if my cutworm is still alive (put him in a container with some water and weeds) today.
