Cross Breeding

Hello everyone,
I'm Back with another Newbie question. Can you cross breed a veiled and a panther togather? I'm thinking a veiled with Ambilobe colors would be insanely cool.

Currently there are no known chameleons you can crossbreed.

When people talk about crossbreeding chameleons, it is Ambilobe panthers and Nosy Be panthers, or Nosy Mitsio panthers and Ankaramy panthers, and so on.

Notice they are all panthers.

It's not really crossbreeding, it's just the term used. It's no different than an Asian and European having a kid. Both are human, just different 'locales'

Ankaramy, Ambilobe, Nosy Be, and Nosy Mitsio are all the actual names of regions or cities that these panther chameleons come from. Depending which area of Madagascar the panther comes from, it will be the color of that area....kinda like a local flag ;)

nope..both are too different to produce offspring....sure they can mate, they can have eggs but they wont hatch.

but i think i read there might have been cases where closely related chameleons can produce a hybrid of some sort

i think one of them is cross breeding a panther chameleon and a oustalets? forgot

I dont know, first of all even in the low chance that they DO mate, and they DO have a fertile clutch, im not sure if there would or would not be excessive amounts of birth defects. In the case that they can and please note this is a complete guess from my experiance with mules, the result might be interesting, like a pokadot panther cham, either way the result would be infertile.
