Compact UVB

Has anyone heard about compact UVB bulbs causing blindness in chameleons? Just got my first cham, spent a lot of $$ on the setup, plants, various foods, etc. Now, had a friend tell me the compact bulbs will cause blindness. Is this true? Do I need to switch to a long tube?

Welcome to the forums. Some of them do cause eye problems that can lead to blindness.....I've seen it happen on here many times. I would personally never use a coil bulb and I would recommend using this UVB bulb. http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...por-bulbs/-/zoo-med-24-repti-sun-50-uvb-bulb/

Yes, some CFLs are known to cause eye issues.
