How old are they?
I hope you are not keeping them so they can constantly see each other?
To mate them, allow them to see each other. If the female remains calm and moves slowly away from the male and keeps a light background color then she is receptive. If the male does not act in an aggressive fashion to the female and the female acts as I described then you should be able to put the two of them together.
If the female turns dark in the background, hisses, sways back and forth, gapes, etc. then she is not receptive. If the male inflates his body, coils and uncoils his tail, holds one hand up close to his chin, etc. then he is not looking at her as a receptive female. Under these circumstances they should not be put together...nor should they be put together if either one of them acts this way.
