Colorado Shooting

I think someone beat you too it already and started a thread earlier but nice of you to do so. It is a pretty sad day in our country when it is not safe to go to the movies. My heart goes out to all the deceased people, their families and the ones who were injured too.

I had not heard about that. Thats too bad. I lived in CO when the Columbine Shootings occured. Actually lived a short drive from Littleton. I remember that was a big deal.

Neuroscience student huh?

Boy, good question. I hate to admit it but I just woke up. I do not have TV at my house (by choice). CF and my email were literally the first things I pulled up when I logged onto the internet. So I suppose I would have found out soon.

Troubling....

Yeah, I woke up to such horrible news and made a thread in general discussion, wrong forum.

Going to be hard to enjoy the movie tonight with this overshadowing the release :(

Still going to see it tonight:D if I'm going to die tonight, then at least I was watching an amazing movie;)

Whats the stupid aquarium thing? Just curious.

The stupid aquarium thing is a 55g saltwater tank I've been trying to setup. It started leaking monday, I fixed it but later noticed some terrible scratches that I wish I saw sooner so I could flip it around.

But, I'm not complaining anymore. I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time, its just sad that someone had to go and do this.

I just put the flag at half-staff for the victims of this tragedy. Senseless violence. But isn't that what all the movies are filled with these days anyway.

Of course. Take the Batman triolgy for instance. The villans are filling the city with senseless violence. Not even centered around money or stealing. But the hero always wins in the end. I don't think that is what caused this though. If you have followed comics since you were young like I have, you have dreamed of them makeing movies like these to see your heros on the big screen.

That and regardless of what the stories on TV, in comics, or on the back of a napkin might say, fundamentally this guy made a choice. No one forced him to enter a theater and start shooting. I agree we are breeding a culture of violence, but even if that explains the crime rates that does not excuse the actions of an individual who massacred innocent people who had nothing to do with anything that may have ticked him off.

I agree that the world is a crazy place these days; however, no matter what the government, society, etc. do when there's a psycho there's a psycho. You can't control someones actions when they're determined to freak out on people. There was a murder last week in the condo building I live in (which is in a nice area with doorman, garage staff etc). The boyfriend had an argument with his girl and decided to stab her to death. Who the hell would have thought this would happen? You just never know when someone is going to tick. That's the scary part, you just never know when someone is going to have a moment :(. May god be with the victims and their families of this senseless crime.

Sorry to get off topic.......but I just saw the movie and it absolutely blew me away :D. NEW FAVORITE MOVIE
