i am a recent owner of a veiled chameleon. stella was doing quite well, eating and drinking, etc. she now has eye infections and i cant seem to get it to go away. have been using eye drops. how do they get this infection and what can i do for her to save money on my part?

have you taken her to the vet? eye infections can get bad and affect other parts of the body and generally need antibiotics. can you post pics of her?

If she has 2 infected eyes, the best thing to do for her is to get her to a vet with plenty of reptile experience.
A cham with closed eyes can't eat and may not drink.
Her eyes may not be infected but she may instead be sleeping during the day because of another illness.
All in all, the best course of action is the vet.

Eye problems unless very mild, are typically not successfully treated without antibiotics. Sometimes, the eye infection is only what you can see of a deeper infection.
Causes vary--anything from irritated eyes which then get rubbed against something with bacteria on it, to vitamin deficiencies to parasites.

Here is a link to a website of vets with a special interest in reptiles:

And, of course , you can search past posts as well for good vets in your area.
