Cleaning Mister

Hey everyone! I have a question about cleaning my mister. I've had the Exo Terra Monsoon for a while now and I'm wondering about cleaning it. I don't want it breeding bacteria or anything like that. I'm just curious as to how you guys go about it. Do you clean the tub with white vinegar or use actual dishwashing soap? I feel like this is kind of a dumb question. I just want to make sure he isn't drinking water that contains/smells/tastes like something it shouldn't. I don't want anything to harm him.. such as soap. If soap is okay to use, ad it's washed completely out with water, then it won't be a problem. I have both vinegar and soap, so whatever works best.

Also, I thought one of the nozzles was clogged. But the other day when I removed it water came out of it, but not the other one. So I think there is some kind of problem with the actual mister. I've read that I could run vinegar through it to clean it out. I'm guessing I need a higher water to vinegar ratio. Honestly though, I'm wanting to get a Mistking anyways. So I don't know if I'll really bother with it now. I just need one nozzle anyways. At least until I get my new Cham. I'll have to get a Mistking and new adult cage for him. It looks like I'm going to manual mist for Chameleon #2 and leave the Monsoon on Bodhi's cage.

One more thing.. how often should I clean his mister with an antibacterial agent? His water is never contaminated. It is just filled up every other day with RO water. Since it stays room temp, and is considered standing, would it be a breeding ground for bacteria? Should it ever be left to dry out sometimes? Please answer as many of these questions as you can. I found info on cleaning out the tubes/nozzles but not the actual tub. I'm sure this has been posted before so I apologize. I just want my little buddy healthy and happy. :)

If you think you need to clean it... I would suggest just changing the tubing out if your worried and then run a bleach/water solution through the pump for 10 minutes with it just cycling from reservoir through the pump and back into the reservoir. Then fill the reservoir up with fresh water, run pump for a bit, then dump water and refill with fresh water, run pump again. Do this three times or more and then check if you smell bleach in the pump. If you don't smell a strong bleach smell, it should be OK. But use very little bleach with a lot of water.
