cleaning fake vines

How do I clean these fake vines?

I want to start putting these in the enclosure i'm working on and I don't think I should be washing these, I just washed a 1/2" wooden pole and I think I ruined it because it absorbed the soap :(

I use a pump sprayer and a steam cleaner. I bought the steam cleaner from walgreens for 25 dollars and the pump sprayer from wal-mart for 10 dollars. Both work exceptionally well for cleaning, although the steam cleaner seems to be more affective at spot cleaning.

I believe kenya had a thread a while back about really good steam cleaners, try the search tool to see what you come up with.

I always remove these things with all the fake plants and stuff I have there from enclosure, put them in the bath tub and shower them- no soap, just hot water.

I just use really hot water in the shower or sink and let them sit there for a bit. It should be hot enough so that it burns to the touch. At that heat, it should kill almost all the bacteria and whatnot on the vines.
