hey guys. so today i caught my cham chewing the fake leaves in his enclosure. should i be worried? also what are safe vegetables/greens i can give him to eat? thanks in advance guys:)

Hi, chewing on plant material may suggest your little one needs hydration/food offered more. Typically like most animals that live in a drier habitat, they look for green leafy plants for hydration. I am assuming you have a vieled, this is the reason i dont recommend fake foliage with this particular species. There is a list on a few different sites of safe live plants. A pathos can be had at just about anywhere that sells live plants. They are fairly cheap and do well in a chameleon habitats we provide. It is safe for your chameleon to eat.

I dont know your humidity, heat or your ways of providing hydration but one or more things may need adjusting. Please fill out this form so we can better help you. https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/

You can offer green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, mustard greens, collard greens, zuchinni, squash, just for starters.

the hydration might have been a problem today. i wasn't there to mist him because i was out all day as a surprise from my parents and didnt have time to get an auto mister. ill offer him some greens tomorrow.

That's what Smeagie used to do.
Now I put a bowl of kale, Romaine or collards in bite size pieces for him
and he wolfs it down!!
I wish all chams would eat veggies, makes supplementing easier.
