Chameleons and cage size

Would a 38 Gallon Reptarium do okay for 2 Pygmy Chameleons? Or would it only be okay for one?
(I read somewhere that you can have 2 female Pygmy's in the same cage, if I am wrong please correct me!)

Also wondering what size cage Jackson Chameleons need when they are Full Grown.

Thanks in advance. :)

They actually need glass cages, like aquariums or those Exoterra glass cages. You can keep 1 male and 2 females in a 10 gal, or 2 females.

I don't have brevs, though I've thought about it. Everything I've seen on the site has a terrarium type enclosure, not a screen cage.

I think you can house them together but it's something like 10 gallons per pygmy.

I'll defer to pygmy owners.

Glass? Okay I can work with that. Someone told me that they would do okay in a screen cage.

Would a 20 Gallon TALL tank work okay for like a male and 2 females?

20 gallon tall would work, but most long term keepers I have talked to say short is better-it allows the tank better air flow and keeps them from becoming too wet. Also short is easier to clean.

Okay thats not that much harder to find! Expecially if its easier to clean and has better air flow. I guess to a pygmy a normal sized tank is pretty big huh? I can try and find two 10-gallon tanks for the lil guys. :) Thank you.

What size for Jacksons do you think? For when they are fully grown?

Hi Zoey,

For what it is worth, I have a male adult xanth and he is in a 24x24x36 and it looks very roomy. I am getting an adult female and will be putting her into an 18x18x36 which I think will work fine . . .

Thank you for this! So they pretty much need a similar size like what the Veileds need. Should be easy enough to get a hold of, thanks JimNPHX

Well . . . I think the 24x24x36 is too big, which is why I am going with the 18x18 for the female (and looking for another 18x18 to switch out the male) but I am not the expert. Perhaps others feel differently.

Hey I just noticed the bottom of your signature. Not sure how long it has been there but congratulations! I bet he likes chameleons!

Thank you. Actually he's the reason we have the Veileds and are getting more! The Female Veiled is his and the Male is mine. I got the Female for his B-Day and was supposed to be a surprise with the exception that HE cleaned up after her. (Actually I take care of her 100% now)

We are looking into getting
1.1 Jacksons
1.2 Pygmys (bearded ones)
and apparently as of tonight a male Panther. (so eventually a female for him as well)

Brad thank you for that link. At first I was thinking that it looked really complicated the way the tank was being set up.. but to be honest, I probably couldn't find a better way to explain it like that. :) Thanks a bunch

Thank you guys for the help on the cages. After I get them all set up (May take a few months to get the money, seems we have 4 cages to do!) I'll post some pictures to see how you like them.
