Has anybody thought about forming a Chameleon Rescue Team that opperates around the world. An International Organizartion that includes proven members from this forum? Get a website and enlist the aid of certain vets in designated areas where the team members are stationed? Get funding through activities/sales/grants, etc? What do we think?

I'll be interested in joining! :D

I think it would be a cool idea to do something like this. I think it would be a lot of work and a full time job. I think you should have a format volunteers could use for gathering info about the chameleons history before releasing it to a new owner. This would help eliminate inbreeding. If you had the infrastructure before you started out, it could work.

I think tracking where the chameleon is from is an important aspect of an organization like this.

It's a great idea, but the possibility of some rescued animal
carrying some infectious agent getting anywhere close to my animals
scares the hell out of me.

Good points are brought up in the above replies. The idea was to incorporate between us in the forum, Internationally. Meaning there would be a member in certain coordinates that have aligned with a vet that would be interested in being a part of the "team." As for the nice woman in the TImes Paper article, she can join us if she wants to. What about calling it Aboreal Reptile Rescue. ARR cute, yeah?

As for the diseases... yeah... that freaks me out too. hm?
Any other thoughts?
