Chameleon Laying On Floor?

Hello,
I have a female Jackson Chameleon who is about a year old. Recently, she has been laying on the floor a lot...but not just upright on the floor. Sometimes I will find her laying on her side, or she will have her tail wrapped around the lowest vine and she will be laying on her back on the ground. She has never done this in the past. It is usual for her to walk on the ground sometimes, but never lay down on her back. Other than this behavior, she seems healthy. When I place her on a branch, she will stay there for a while and when I feed her she eats about 4 crickets at a time. She seems hydrated, I spray her throughout the day and she drinks off of the leaves. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help!

I would keep a close eye on her. If it is an isolated event then dont worry. If she starts doing it on a consistent basis and you are worried, I think it may be a problem. I have had chameleons do this before and it was a sign of illness or being egg bound. Since it is a jackson's, being eggbound is not an issue. Is she gravid?

No she is not. I got her when she was about the size of my fingernail and she has not been around any other chameleons since then lol. What would you recommend if she continues to do this? Like I said its hard to judge because otherwise she seems healthy.

I had a female panther that I think did the same thing. She didnt lie on the bottom but would lay on branches like she had no streangth. She would just plop herself down and let her feet hang like she had no more streangth. She looked sickly. I upped her water and food, especially water and after about a month it looked like she had gotten better. I never could identify a cause for the change in her behavior.
