This isn't an emergency or a life threatening situation (at least to my knowledge) but i wasn't sure where else to post this. I've been giving great care to my Red Bar Panther Chameleon, Mr. Manfrid however his colors have seem to faded or neutral out. He is always a light or dark brown with blacks and sometimes some reds. His father has a really INTENSE red and he was more colorful as a baby and juvenile than he is now. I cant quite figure out why he would be so dull looking all the time unless that's just what colors he is. He has a large cage, plenty of hiding places, the right lighting and basking, i mist the cage multiple times a day and i even bought an umbrella plant for him to help with the humidity. The only thing i can think of is his diet of only crickets and the rare treat of superworms. (Giving my red runner colony some time to grow before i start feeding him those to help with variety) and i also use gutloads and calcium.

Is there something i could be doing wrong?
Could it just be that he is a dull cham?
Any suggestions or theories will be REALLY appreciated, im starting to worry about him.

Unfortunately I dont have a good camera, ill see what i can post.
I absolutely bought a "he" but i have thought about the possibility that "he" is a "she", however he poops sperm plugs so i doubt it.

Ok, but a pic will help us to help you. I have not kept Panthers myself, but I am sure other members that own them may have other ideas about what's going on with your chameleon.

he could just be going through a phase but in general their colors do get better as they age. A pic would be helpful. Keep in mind that not all offspring look like their parents. It would be nice if they all looked as good as the sire pictures but often times they don't.
