i have had my chameleon for about 6 months, he is a male panther. He is very afraid of me, he has hand fed a few times and has never let me hold him. He was on my hand once ever and he was very scared and tried running away. I would appriciate any advice on how to start interacting with him more and to get him to be less afraid. thanks

Try hand feeding more often. Also, try using his favorite treats but move it onto your forearm, Continue this and move the treat up higher and higher till he gets onto your arm. Its all about him building a trust with you. This may take a bit of time and it may not happen the first or second time you try it. But just keep workin with him.
