Chameleon Growth

Just wanted to share month to month growth of my chameleons. I have hatched, raised, and bred my own offspring and I always finding myself questioning the ages and growth rates. This is just one example of a chameleons progress and size food. I am just amazed at some of these animals I am seeing now days that have hemipenal bulges at 2 and 3 months of age. Are these people hatching them and 100% sure of age? Are they actually closer to the 3 and 4 month marker? And lastly...the real reason I posted this...are mine growing slower than everyone else that breeds chameleons???

Newly hatched (10 minutes old), fruit flies and 1/8 crix:

Little under a month old, still fruit flies and 1/8 - 1/4 crix:

Right around 2 months old, 1/4" crix:

Right around 3 months old, 3/8" crix:

Right around 4 1/2 months old, 1/2" crix:

Any feedback is welcome :)

Off topic...but how cute are those scrawny front legs with that big bulge. Too funny :)

I too have noticed recently a lot of "babies" looking much more mature than I would think at that age. I want the secret recipe for those diets!

Your hatchling really can scarf down a 1/8 sized cricket??? How many do you feed per day about?

All of your aged guys look very normal. The almost 7 month older isnt seen too often, because he looks like a "true holdback" ;) lol.

Whenever I get my chameleons from Vince @ Screameleons, they're of appropriate size and color. Never disappointed with Screameleons, always happy!

I have seen some chameleons online, being sold for only 185-225 dollars. And they're said to be only 4-5 months old... and they look like 7-9 month olds. With tons of color. If they were 5 months old, that big, and that much color... I would think they would be charging atleast 400+ for something that siick looking.

Guess some people are just out to hook people up to the max?

I was sold a couple chameleons that were said to be 4 month olds. They were not older than 1.5 months IMHO.

Unless... has anybody here seen a 4 month old Panther that wasn't longer than 3 inches? Total length, from nose to tip of tail?
