cham raking his casque on the top of cage

Hi everyone first timer here. I've had my male veiled chameleon for over a year now and he's been doing great. He's a good eater. I feed him every other day crickets mealworms and romain lettuce with calcium dust on the crickets. He lives in a 2x2x4 cage with a live shreffrela (umbrella tree). I don't make much contact with him other than to feed. I maintain the humidity with a spray bottle and I put ice cubes on top to drip for him to drink. Our problem is that he's been raking the top of his casque on the top of his cage and now he's gotten his casque split open and is swollen quite bad. I pur some neosporin on it to protect the wound but I'm wondering if any others have had this issue as well.

I would lower the branches or vines so his casque cannot reach the top of the screen to irritate it and reinjure. Neosporin or polysporin is ok to use. Keep in mind they do take awhile to heal. I would say if it does not improve, then obviously get him to a vet.
