Cant take the cage outside!!

So, I upgraded my veiled chams cage from a 24 x 18 to a 48 x 24'' and he seems very happy with the extra room.
Only problem, when I take him out for sun, the whole cage gets placed on a table in my front yard. Now, I cant do that with this huge cage.

Soooo, what should I do to get him out and cooperate??!!
He is not inclined to just get on my hand like, okay! lets go!

The only other option is to put him in the south window, on a fake plant, and with the window open but not the screen!

Any suggestions??

Set up his old cage outside if you can and then use a stick to guide him out and then put him outside. The more you do it the more he'll get used to getting on a stick because it means outside time, which is nice for him.

I had to use his old cage for my baby Nosy be.
Also, Smeagol is wise to the "stick" thing! LOL

Old cages are good. Also you can buy a large reptarium. I bought one for Oliver because they are really lightweight and easy to handle. I think it would be a good travel cage too :D

buy a piece of wood to create a bigger table base or is it that you can't carry the larger cage?

Frustrating when plans don't work out quite how you wanted right? :)

Well, don't feel too bad. I bought a house once partly because it seemed to have a nice double French door onto a patio. I keep aviary birds and wanted to be able to roll the aviary outdoors to pressure wash it down when needed. Once I moved in and built the aviary I found out that the French doors didn't open all the way and the cage wouldn't fit through them!!! Talk about an expensive error.

It's really hard to get that big cage through the door!!
If I could get it outside, my table is okay for it.

Thinking about a large used bird cage or something really cheap!!
Maybe lurk eBay and see what I can find!

Make an outdoor cage =)
Right now I'm in the process of making a smaller 2x3x4 cage for my boy Ringo to keep inside and I'm going to finish up his 2x4x4ft cage and leave it outside when we move.

Thats a good idea Bunny :D I found an old bird cage that we used to keep a VERY annoying bird in, it wouldnt shut up! But than it died and now we just have a big bird cage, so im gona stick a plant under it and let my cham chill outside :)
