Yep they are both the same species, Namaqua chameleons are noted for eating extraordinarily large prey such as snakes etc. even vipers! I guess when food is scarce youll eat anything and.
Cool! Amazing species, Id love to see more vids of them! Was that staged though or genuine footage in their habitat ?
edit: come to think of it, I wonder how a chameleon would manage a viper without being envenomated and/or becoming a meal itself? Maybe they only try very small ones? hatchling vipers? Even so hatchling vipers are probly just as toxic in terms of venom as the adults. Would really love to see video of that!
