Can anyone tell me what this plant is?

A friend of mine recommended it to me for my cham's enclosure and I've seen it at the local nature walk but I can't for the life of me figure out the species.

It's a money tree

I think it's a Rhododendron. Fairly common on LI. The bud in the middle looks like it could be the start of a flower. They are toxic so probably not a good idea for your Cham.

If it is a Rhododendron it is poisonous and would not let your chameleons climb (especially eat any of the plant) on that plant.
