Camille with eggs "question"

I'm out of town and my husband's home taking care of the pets. He send me these pics of Camille and said she'd roaming around. I think she's about ready to lay those eggs. Her weight was 194 grams today......up 12 more grams this week. She's been gaining on an average of 12 grams a week since she mated with Luie on July 10th. She's showing no interest in the laying bins but he said she's checking out the dirt her tree's planted in. It's a huge pot and she laid her eggs there last time. Should he just leave her alone and allow her to lay where she wants? Last time it really took allot out of her digging so deep in the plant and going through the roots and all but I was afraid to move her once she started. What do you guys think? Leave her alone or try to get her to use a laying bin? Jann

I love mixing Bed-A-Beast and sand-makes it so much easier to dig. I would put the laying bins in and see what she wants to do. I am sure taking out the plant would be an issue and the change may stress her.

I'm sorry it's off topic and doesn't answer your question Jann, but wow!

Camille is beautiful and looks like she's about to explode. That sure happened fast!

Thanks Juli! Where do you buy the Bed a Beast? Right now I have washed playsand only.

Petsmart has it. A container of washed playsand weighs a ton, and is hard to dig in. The mix makes the oontainer lighter, and if the tunnel collapses makes it easier for the female to get out.

You're right the laying bins are heavy.....I have to get my husband to move them around. I'll send him to Petsmart tomorrow. Thank you.

I have tried every laying bin I could and it seems this little girls all decide to lay where ever they want. I hope it is in the bin. Good luck and Camille looks great even when ready to pop.:)

I agree with Juli about the stress factor in change...but, perhaps you could put rocks over the soil in her plant. This may make her more interested in the laying bin. I have never had to deal with a female laying eggs in a plant. All of my girls prefer their laying bins, thank goodness.
