I was wondering for my 3 to 4 month old veiled chameleon could I just go with a 24x24x48? Right now the cage he is in is to small and I know I will have to go with the 24x24x48 when he gets older but just to save money I don't want to get a 18x18x36 and have him grow out of that one too. So my question is can I got with a 24x24x48 With no problem at all?

yes you could. The only problem people worry about is the feeders hiding on them and your chameleon not being able to find the food in such a large area. You can eliminate this by cup feeding.

Just like Carol said you are going to want to cup feed for the little guy to make sure he is getting all the food he needs. I found this video for you to see how to make a good one that will be easy to use and is a very good feeder. I have one myself and I really like it.

And when you install the cup I find it easier to have a perch going across from the cup so that he can get to it a little easier. But I do make sure it is a good distance away so that he can exercise his tongue a little more than just sitting right on the feeder and going face first into it But do make sure it is not so far away that he over extends his tongue, that will not be a good thing.

And are you sure the crickets can't just hop out of that container?

They occasionally will hop out, I don't find it often that they do. My female Veiled is a little piggy and normally destroys them before they can even think about it

And yeah that sounds right, But what I would do is space out the feedings if you have the time to do so. Maybe two or even three times a day but do not feed less than a couple of hours away from bed time as it will be more difficult to digest.

I totally understand the college thing as I am currently a college student also lol makes it difficult sometimes when they give you the "I am pissy and hungry stare" And anytime I am glad I could help you, just remember that the forum is full of boatloads of info so feel free to ask any question you may have, everyone here is more than willing to help you out.
