This isn't "Rocky"... this is his girlfriend.

Ok, so this weekend I'm in charge of all the animals b/c D had a wedding to attend in his hometown. I want to surprise him by getting him the enclosure he wants from the pet store we got Moose from. It is finally on sale, and he has been eying it for awhile now. It comes as is and has dead crickets in the bottom all the vines and what not. My question is, Is there a certain way to clean all the vines and the cage to make sure it is super clean and bacteria free??

Thanks,
A

You can use a solution of bleach and water to rid it/them of bacteria. I use a scrub pad and a bowl with a 50/50 mix of bleach and water folowed by a good rinse. I do the same for branches and then allow them to dry completely. I know you can bake them to rid them or germs and bacteria aswell. I think most do it at about 200-225 degrees for 15-20 mins, but be careful you dont burn them.

50/50 bleach/water that sounds really strong. Too strong to be able to wash all of the bleach off. I put ~1 cup of bleach to a gallon of water and let everything dry out in the sun for a day or two.

Your right its not 50/50, or atleast the amount I put in isnt 50/50. *I just pictured myself pouring it right now*... I dont use a measuring cup I just eyeball it. Im guesing its mabey closer to 20/80 or 25/75 at best. Im sorry for the mix up. Getting a 50/50 mix off would be quite difficult, and when Im done rinsing I do smell the vines and they dont have an odor from the bleach. Sorry for the mix up. Thanks for the correction.:)
