Cage Question

I have built a real nice big enclosure for 2 adult chams (I will post some pics in the thread when I get home). The only thing I havent done yet is put a barrier between the large space to make it two enclosures. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for material to use that would be cheap and water resistant but still block the sight from each other. Right now I was thinking maybe a shower curtain liner, or maybe even the cloth outer part. But I would imagine those will cause mold growth. Also I guess a black trash bag maybe I could staple up and use as well... It would look ugly though. Please any ideas? thank you!

I have a cage like that with the PVC type barrier, same as most floors you see. It works great!

you can buy large palctic sheets at homedepot, its called cloroplast i believe its the same stuff they make typical for sale signs out of

Ooh I didn't know what it was called, that's good to know:)

I use the fish tank background stuff for a barrier on some of my cages it works out well and is cheap:D

Ok I have two more quick basic questions. Do you continue misting/dripping overnight? (leave out dripper or leave mister timer unchanged) Or is it ok to turn off water when lights go out. Also lighting. They run on a 12-12 dark and light schedule right? Getting my chams in a month or so. Cant wait! Trying to read up as much as possible.

I live my mister on all day.. but I run it about every 3 hrs for 30 seconds long... though... Im starting to not like how little that is so I think ima either put it to every hour or misting longer... Sadly the Habba mister thing doesnt hold that much water -_- Ive heard of ppl making an extra resevoir for it to hold more water but im not sure how I would get the habbamist to actually suck the water up from the extra resevoir

Thank you, Yea I thought about getting the habba mist but now I think I might make my own auto mister or just buy the big dripper. Can anyone else help me with letting me know what they do for their water/ lights schedule??? Pleaseeeeee

Definitely post pictures of your set-up when you are able. I bet we can come up with a great solution to split your cage that is functional, inexpensive, and maybe even looks good!

Chameleons don't drink at night so dripping or misting would only be helpful if you are trying to keep up the humidity. Chameleons need to be well hydrated, but you want to make sure you are not keeping too humid of an environment!

i run my mister for 45-60sec at 8am 10am 12noon ( 2 45sec mists 15 sec apart ) and 2pm 4pm 6pm them light out at 8 giving a coule hours of time to dry for nite time

and i use mistking GREAT PRODUCT!!!

I guess maybe I should turn it off at night? Ive never noticed it to humid though I wake up and usually at max its 70% I didnt think 70 was that bad?

no 70 is ok but you want your cham to be dry at night when he is sleeping. midnight misting my also disturb his sleping.
im sure it rains some night in the wild but i think for the most part no misting or dripper at night

alrighty thanx hoj Ill just turn it off at night. The habba mist is super annoying too...... so it wont matter to me XD keeps me up at night lol.
