Im wondering the same Is this a trick question? I think abs is used a lot for thermoforming, and pvc not so much... But who knows???

somehow missed the part "piping".... Maybe different chemical tolerances depending what its used for

plastic is plastic gotcha! Im just going to go with whichever on is cheaper, after all its the main reason im building the cages this way.

Hey man, they are good.

I added to Donahue's FR, and Stella is still improving.
Her eyes have been getting puffy, Im going to see about taking her into a vet, I think she may have some sort of infection.
She has been eating lots of bees though! They have been easy to catch, and she really seems to love them!

What about your gang?
How are the mantids working out for you?

I know they are all plastic, but I don't know about "plastic is plastic"....for our purposes they might be interchangeable but there is SOME reason that both materials are regularly used in the industry...

Rango is loving life like always. Morpheus is still pretty rough, He's lost 10 grams since the vet. I cant get him to eat much, aside from the bb flies the only real food he will eat is the "white" molting roaches which I dont have have many of since they just come and go. I still have 26 mantids, Im trying to grow them to a couple inches before I feed them off.. Lets just say Its not a very "productive" process

HA! i lucked out when i got mine, there is a building materials no company a couple towns away.

i forget what really sent me in their direction.

anyways someone online told me the plastic was probably pvc. but it dosnt really have the sheen. so i took a sheet into them. i just walked into their shop. i dont think i was supposed to be there and just asked some random guy walking past what it was and if they had any.

he didnt know what it was specifically but offered me a BUNCH of scrap material that was similar larger than 2x2 that they were just going to trash. luckily we had the pickup so we just loaded up and left. got the hook up fo free.

it was a huge pain in the butt to cut through tho. ended up having to score it and crack it. sawing just wouldnt work. but free is free XD

have you tried contacting chameleon cage companies? who even makes the damn things anymore? i havent bought one in forever

Im just gonna order it, and have it shipped to my shop.. I found some at a sign company but they wanted almost double the price it would cost me per 4x8 sheet.

ABS, PVC, etc?

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a very commonly extruded plastic, same for the Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). Similar strength materials, the ABS is a bit stronger.

But as many have said for the applications everyone is talking about here, there both equally good and can be used, whichever you can find cheaper..
