Cage cleanings

How often should you be cleaning the cages and how does everyone go about it? I will be picking up the poop everynight but does everyone actually tear down their cage and clean out with soap or bleach very often? It took me awhile to set up all the vines and branches so taking everything apart all the time would be a hassle. Thanks!

I clean up poop and bug remains every night and I do a complete cleaning once a week. Prefarabbly on my days off. Yes I do take apart the whole cage I know it does suck but I dont want anything harboring in tthere.

I do the same as Leroux, when his lights are about to go off I remove anything uneaten, dead leaves, skin from shedding, or any poop I find.

Then once a week I do a deep clean of his cage, and let him hang out on the pothos on my patio.

I spot clean daily, then full clean once to twice monthly. Yeah it's a bit of a chore but good preventive maintainance.

I think the feeder bens require more cleaning than the chameleon cade cages!

Yeah I do the same....every morning I clean out any " messes" then on the weekend while he is sun bathing on his hibiscus I remove the plants, clean them and the rocks, spray the inside of his enclosure, and he gets a shower later that afternoon.

Gotta agree with Leroux. Preventative maintenance is your friend. Dont neglect daily duties thats when your asking for expensive problems down the road at the chams expense and your wallets. ;) I spot clean three times a week. I do a full tear down twice a month for all the cages. Basically spot clean the day after feeding the adults that way I get all poos and any uneatten feeders. ;)

Ok I will try to make sure to clean every weekend. Do you guys just spray it down or do you scrub with soap?
