cage bottoms..

I was wondering what most of you put on the bottom of your cages? right now we have a screened terrarium with this bark like substrate on the ground (pet store used it, so we just stuck with it) But I hear a lot about the Chams accidentally eating it and choking on the substrate. I've heard of some people using carpet on the bottoms, as well as just some damp papertowels. We have a dripper and need to get a cup to catch the access water because it's flooding the bottom. My chams are never on the bottom anyways and usually eat the crickets that climb on the screen, but just wanted some opinions.

alot of us will drill some small holes in the center of the bottom of the cage, and sit the cage on a small stand above a small tupperware so it can drain into the tupperware( or just a bowl) as for the substrate, we dont use it..its a mess anyway, and can cause unwanted vet visits..just keep a bare floor, super easy to clean , and put large river rocks on top of the soil in the potted plants that way they cant get to the dirt and try and eat it.

ok yeah I figured bare may be the best. My chams dont get too big, about 7 inches at most, and their cage isn't big enough for a big potted plant, but we are working on putting some live small plants and vines in there. Thanks a lot guys! Also, we have a feeding cup in there and its in the middle of the cage, suspended over and under branches so they can reach is easily, but we had cricket in there for about 4 days and they never touched any of them, bu when we try to hand feed them they eat like crazy. Any suggestions on how to get them to eat from the cup?

I use softray cage liners for the big and small cages. then just clean them off during cage maintance. they are made from vynle i think. not sure what you are using for an enclsure, but they work great in an apogee type cage.

Bare Bottom, but I have a plastic tray that my 2 potted plants sit in to catch water. I found the crickets drowning, so now that tray is filled with small pebbles and I positioned my dripper to drip into the plants. No need for drainage in my cage. :)
