I just bought a few things to make gutload for my crickets for my cham thats arriving tomorrow and the butternut squash were all hard. Are they supposed to be hard or are they just not ripe?

I place small chunks in a bowl of water and nuke in microwave to soften up. Just have to let cool and your good to go. Can place hard (non nuked bits ) in with superworms and roaches. They'll eat the raw chunks just fine. Although roaches like the soft stuff too.

Thanks for the info
It's usually pretty firm. Now I understand why you were asking before!

I was wondering about both. Do you cook the squash before you blend it for your frozen gutload you make?
