Butterfly cage?

Hey all,

I'm new to chameleons, and I was wondering would I be able to use a butterfly enclosure as a cage?

I want to use the Jumbo tall enclosure, I would have the UVB lights and heat lamp elavated off the enclosure because it doesn't look steady enough to hold those up. My only concern is crix chewing threw the cage, if I cup fead the chameleon would this work?

All I can say is I have had a clutch of baby deremensis living in several butterfly cages since they were born 8/11/11

Check my old thread "a little something different" for pictures of how I have it set up. They even have a mistaking running. But
I will say I would not plan it long term, I just don 't think they can stand yup to it.but as cheap as they are you don't have a lot to lose, if you have to replace it.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, starting out with this, and if it doesn't work just getting a new cage

I think it will work for a while, just be ready to have everything hang above the cage, not on it.
