burns????

i moved my male juvenile veiled chameleon into a new enclosure yesterday. but i was looking at him today and saw some black spots on his head. this worries me GREATLY. im worried theyre burns. i have the lights hanging above the enclosure , and everything in the enclosure is moved down a bit, because ive been scared of him getting burnt. help?? he is still pretty active as usual, eats good, and drinks well
 
yes. i currently do not have the money for one of them long lamp things and the uvb bulb. all i have right now are those lights and those stupid little blue lights
Ok so I hate to say this but a linear t5h0 fixture is REQUIRED for a chameleon and he'll die if you don't but him the uvb. If you don't have the money then you'll have to rehome him. A chameleon cannot last long without uvb. the uvb isn't expensive its only like 50$ on amazon

alright thank you for the help. ill get right on it. could you send some links for fixtures and bulbs?
 
Also two heat lamps is too hot. how much watts are in each one? how far down is the basking spot? fill out this form so we can get more info and help you more.


Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?

  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?
