Problem- Im starting to notice a strange color on a specific part of his casque, kind of looks brown maybe black. It's not at the top which makes me think maybe its not a burn. It's located on the side and runs from slightly above where his mouth would be if it was wider up to about a 1/4" from the top. Is this a common spot for them to get burns or maybe just part of his color pattern.

Dont have access to a camera right now, not sure when I will. Dont have my thermometers in there right now because the kept falling wherever i rigged them up. Have done what I have read on other peoples though and held my hand in his basking spot where he always sits and it seemed fine. I can comfortably move my hand from his basking spot all the way up to where the light is and not get too hot. I have a pic on my phone that might help a little, anyone know how I might be able to post it on here.

How old is this veiled? Male veileds sometimes do have dark coloring along the edges of the casque and the raised ridges above the eyes. As said pix would help greatly.
